Malta Digital Nomad Visa Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for Malta’s digital nomad visa, you must meet the following criteria:

• Valid Passport – You must have a valid passport that is not issued by the EU or any of the restricted countries
• Work Remotely – You must work remotely as an employee, freelancer, or business owner for a company or clients established outside of Malta
• Earn 42,000€ per year – You must meet the minimum income requirement
• Clean Criminal Record – You must be able to show a clean criminal record from your country of residence
• International Health Insurance – You must have comprehensive health insurance coverage for the duration of your stay in Malta
• Address of Accommodations in Malta – You must present a 12-month lease or property deed to show your residential address in Malta
• Pass a Background Verification Check – You must pass a background verification check done by the authorities in Malta

Important: The following nationalities are restricted from applying for Malta’s digital nomad visa – Afghanistan, North Korea, Iran, Democratic Republic of Congo, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Yemen, Venezuela, Russia, and Belarus.
