Dominica Digital Nomad Visa: How to Apply [4 Steps]
Palm trees. Tropical climate. Gorgeous Caribbean beaches. You can have it all with the Dominica digital nomad visa.
With Dominica’s Work in Nature program, digital nomads from all over the world can call this beautiful Caribbean island home for a total of 18 months.
You may even recognize the island from the famous Pirates of the Caribbean movie franchise, enticing you even more, to come and temporarily live in this tropical landscape. It’s also one of the most affordable islands to live in the Caribbean!
Another great feature of the Dominica digital nomad visa is that the applicant isn’t obligated to pay income, capital gains, or dividend taxes during their stay.
You may also bring your spouse and children with you to Dominica with the digital nomad visa.
Dominica joins other Caribbean islands in offering a digital nomad visa, including Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Anguilla, Curaçao, and the Cayman Islands.
We’re discussing exactly how to apply for the Dominica digital nomad visa and the requirements you must meet to be eligible to do so.
What is a Digital Nomad Visa?
A digital nomad visa allows you to get a temporary residence permit in a foreign country if you work remotely.
This type of visa does not allow you to be employed by a company or person in the country where you are staying. So, you must work remotely for a company, own a business, or freelance with clients outside of the country where you wish to hold the visa.
This is a great option for digital nomads who want to settle down and live abroad for a little bit. After traveling around on tourist visas, a digital nomad visa is a nice way to refresh and truly get to know a country.
Dominica Digital Nomad Visa Requirements
As with every visa, there are certain requirements you must meet to be eligible to apply for the Dominica digital nomad visa.
- Valid Passport – Your passport must be valid at the time of applying
- At Least 18 Years of Age – You must meet the age requirement
- Work Remotely – You can be employed by or own a company outside of Dominica or be a freelancer with clients outside of the country
- Earn $50,000/year – You must earn this income working remotely
- Health Insurance – You must have health insurance coverage in Dominica
- Clean Criminal Record – You must stand in good character in your country of residence
If you meet all of these requirements, then you are eligible to apply for the Dominica digital nomad visa!

Dominica for Digital Nomads
Imagine living on a Caribbean island for a year and a half exploring the world’s most beautiful beaches and watching gorgeous sunsets. It’s all possible when you live as a digital nomad in Dominica.
While this island attracts plenty of tourism, it isn’t just for holidays and vacations. Digital nomads and remote workers are finding comfort and reliable wifi here. With a handful of coworking spaces popping up and luxurious accommodations, it can be difficult to remind yourself you aren’t on vacation 24/7.
The cost of living in Dominica is also much more affordable compared to other islands in the area. For just one person, you can budget $1,000 a month while living in the country.
It isn’t all tropical wilderness, though. Many digital nomads frequent the city of Roseau and enjoy the cafes, Creole architecture, and modern life on the island. Finding accommodations isn’t difficult, either. There are plenty of opportunities for digital nomads in Dominica; you just have to look for them!
