17 Easy Digital Nomad Visas to Apply for in 2024
Applying for a visa often involves gathering a lot of documents, attending appointments at embassies, and waiting for long periods of time for approval. These easy digital nomad visas bypass all of the complications involved with relocating to a new country.
With over two dozen digital nomad visas available worldwide, some are easier to apply for than others. Between an online application process or relaxed eligibility requirements, we’ve curated a list of easy digital nomad visas to apply for in 2023.
From the Caribbean to Europe to Africa to South America, remote workers can relocate temporarily to a new country while keeping their current jobs.
What is a Digital Nomad Visa?
A digital nomad visa is a temporary residence permit that allows remote workers to live in a foreign country for one to two years.
This type of visa does not give the applicant the right to search for a job in the country. In fact, the visa holder must work for a company or own a business established outside of the country where they wish to apply for a digital nomad visa.
Some digital nomad visas require temporary residents to pay local taxes if they live in the country for more than 183 days out of the year too.
Digital nomad visas are ideal for remote workers who want to settle down abroad for a couple of years or families looking for a change of scenery.
What Makes a Digital Nomad Visa Easy to Apply for?
If you have ever applied for a visa before, you know how overwhelming and complicated it can be. Between communicating with your local embassy or consulate, attending appointments, and gathering all of the necessary documents with translations and apostilles, it’s a long and strenuous process.
Fortunately, there are some easy digital nomad visas available that don’t require embassy appointments or interviews, or apostilled documents.
Nomads Embassy defines an easy digital nomad visa as one with a simple application process and a relatively affordable income requirement.
Affordable Income Requirement
Most digital nomad visas have a minimum income requirement that applicants must meet to be eligible to apply for them.
The purpose of this income requirement is to ensure the applicant has sufficient means to support themselves in the country with the income of their remote job.
In our list of easy digital nomad visas, we’ve kept the minimum income requirement below $50,000 per year.

Some digital nomad visas with lower income requirements are not included on this list because the application process is a bit complicated.
Simple Application Process
We also define an easy digital nomad visa as one with a simple and quick application process.
Most of the digital nomad visas on this list do not require you to go to a local embassy or consulate to submit your documents. However, the ones we have included that do require it promise a quick processing time.
The documents you must submit also do not have to be translated into the local language or apostilled by your country of origin, which can prolong your application process.

Gathering documents to submit with your digital nomad visa application means finding an international health insurance policy that covers you for the duration of your stay.
