Your dream of living near a tropical beach and working remotely in paradise can come true with these Caribbean digital nomad visas.
Back in 2020, Caribbean nations started introducing digital nomad visas, allowing remote workers to come and temporarily live on the islands. They were surprised at just how popular the visas would be!
Perfect for digital nomads who want warm weather year-round or families looking for a change of scenery, the Caribbean digital nomad visas are excellent opportunities.
With simple application processes and ideal tax schemes, many digital nomads are looking towards the Caribbean to make a temporary home.
If youโre considering applying for a Caribbean digital nomad visa, then youโve come to the right place!
In this article, we will go over all of the digital nomad visas in the Caribbean, both available and coming soon, to help you decide which one is right for you.
What is a Digital Nomad Visa?
A digital nomad visa is a temporary residence permit that allows remote workers to live in a foreign country.
To be eligible for a digital nomad visa, the applicant must work remotely either as an employee or business owner of a company established outside of the country where they wish to hold the visa or as an independent contractor with clients abroad.
A digital nomad visa does not allow you to search for local employment or engage in economic business activity.
Other than that, digital nomad visa holders can take advantage of everything else in the country, such as schools for their children and healthcare.
Digital Nomad Visas Available in the Caribbean
There are currently eight Caribbean digital nomad visas available. The majority of the Caribbean digital nomad visas allow applicants to live on the island for one to two years, but there are some exceptions.
Most of them also have a very simple application process. You will not have to visit an embassy or consulate to submit your application or documents.
Anguilla
With gorgeous, white sandy beaches, sunny weather, friendly people, and excellent wifi connection, youโll have everything you need to live your digital nomad lifestyle. In fact, Anguilla is particularly proud of its wifi network and boasts about it frequently.
The relaxed atmosphere and sunny weather are perfect for digital nomads who enjoy tropical nature and water sports.
Itโs important to note that while there is no minimum income requirement for Anguillaโs digital nomad visa, an immigration officer may request bank statements to see that you can support yourself on the island.
Visa Term: 1 year
Visa Requirements
- Valid passport
- Work remotely OR enrolled in university with remote classes
- Entry visa (if applicable)
- Health insurance coverage in Anguilla
- Clean criminal record

It isnโt all beaches and yacht harbors, though. Some of the most popular places to stay include small cities like St. Johnโs and Saint Philip. However, if youโre looking for something smaller and more tranquil, English Harbour Town may be the place for you.
The Nomad Digital Residence Visa has a simple online application process. It is important to mention that the application fee is a bit hefty, clocking in at $1,500 for individual applicants and $2,000 for couples.
