Grenada Digital Nomad Visa: Apply in 4 Simple Steps

Last Updated on 22 April 2024 by Brittany

Spend your days working remotely with your toes in the sand when you apply for the Grenada digital nomad visa

This Caribbean island is offering remote workers to live in Grenada for one year, with the option to renew for another year. Enjoy the gorgeous, white sandy beaches and soak in the sun after a long day of sitting in front of your screen.

With English as an official language, communication and adjusting to your new home will be much easier than you may have expected.

Applicants may bring their spouse and dependents under the age of 18 with them to Grenada on this digital nomad visa.

One of the main benefits of obtaining the Grenada digital nomad visa is you’ll take advantage of the zero income tax while living on the island, potentially saving you thousands of dollars.

Grenada joins other nations in the Caribbean offering a digital nomad visa including Barbados, Curaçao, Anguilla, the Cayman Islands, Montserrat, Dominica, and Antigua and Barbuda

What is a Digital Nomad Visa?

A digital nomad visa allows remote workers temporary residency in a foreign country.

To qualify for a digital nomad visa, you must work remotely as an employee for or own a business registered and established outside of the country where you wish to hold the visa or as a freelancer with clients abroad.

A digital nomad visa does not entitle you to search for employment within the country. You must earn your income remotely and be paid by an entity outside of the country where you hold the visa.

This option is ideal for digital nomads who would like to settle down for a year or two and truly get to know a destination abroad.

Grenada Digital Nomad Visa Requirements

Digital nomad visas have a very specific set of requirements you must meet to be eligible to apply for them. Below are the following Grenada digital nomad requirements:

  • Valid Passport – Your passport must be valid at least six months after your Grenada digital nomad visa expires
  • Work Remotely – You must be employed by or own a company located outside of Grenada or work as a freelancer with clients outside of the country
  • Earn $37,000/year – You must meet the income requirement
  • Fully Vaccinated Against COVID-19 – You must meet current vaccination requirements stated by Grenada
  • Health Insurance Policy – You must have health insurance coverage in Grenada

If you meet all of these requirements, then you may proceed with submitting an application for the Grenada digital nomad visa.

Steps to Apply

The process to apply for the Grenada digital nomad visa is a bit different than in other Caribbean nations. The process is done by mail – not online.

Step 1: Gather Documents

Before you begin filling out your application, it’s a good idea to gather all of the documents you will need to submit with it. You’ll need the following documents:

  • Copy of Passport
  • Two Passport-Sized Photos (taken less than three months ago
  • Proof of Income via Bank Statements or Payslips
  • Proof of Health Insurance Policy

Make sure all of your documents are in English and printed clearly.

Step 2: Complete Application

You can find the Grenada digital nomad visa application here.

Make sure to fill it out in either black or blue ink and sign it.

Step 3: Mail Your Application

Now that you’ve gathered your documents and filled out the application, it’s time to mail it to the Grenada embassy with the fee.

The fee to apply for the digital nomad is $1,500 for individuals and $2,000 for a family of four. Each additional dependent is $200.

You may pay this fee by money order or a certified check made out to the Embassy of Grenada.

If you wish your visa to be mailed back to you, instead of picking it up, you must also include a separate money order of $20 for Express Service mail within the United States or $60 for Express International Mail.

You will then mail your application and documents to the following address:

Embassy of Grenada

1701 New Hampshire Avenue, NW

Washington, DC 20009-2501

You can read more information about submitting your application here.

Step 4: Wait for Approval

Once the embassy receives your application and documents, it usually takes about ten business days to process them.

They do recommend that you submit your visa application at least six weeks before you plan to arrive in Grenada.
